I took my pickup in for what I thought was the carrier bearing. Manual transmission, making ugly noises while running in gear. After discussing it with the folks at the shop, I could be looking are a very expensive differential rebuild. Heck, I was pricing new trucks by this time.
They discovered a missing mount on the transmission (from a prior fix at another shop) and a bad u-joint. Where they could have milked a lot of money out of me, they were completely honest with me and only charged me the $150 it cost to fix the problem. Will definitely recommend them and use them for any problems that arise in the future.
I had a very favorable experience at the Washington Blvd AAMCO center and would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them.

I stopped into Aamco (arts and crafts) the other day looking for random gears for an art project that I’m working on. I met Ian at the front office. He was extremely friendly and helpful. Once I told him what I was looking for, he was extremely accommodating and immediately took me to the back and let me search out what I was looking for. I met another employee and he was also extremely friendly and helpful. While I wasn’t looking to have a transmission repaired, I’m glad that I stopped in because all of my needs we met. And I was very happy with how friendly and nice the staff was at Aamco ,on Washington. I would recommend stopping in if you have any automotive needs based on how friendly everyone I met in the shop was that day.
Ian really came through for me when I was in a bad situation. I was passing though town on my way home to Chicago with my wife and son in tow when we started having transmission issues. They were the only shop in range that was open on a Saturday. Even though the news wasn't all good, Ian carefully explained the whole situation and what all the various engine codes and symptoms meant. His lovely accent also made it easier to hear. Thanks for not taking advantage of a stranger when it would have been easy to do so.
Ian and his team communicate very well and took the time to make sure I understood the full story of the other issues I had with my car. They showed me the areas concerned and I feel satisfied of their honesty and quality of service! Thank you!
This people really make me feel like we was friends from long ago. They will do there best. Call you even when they've closed. Call with daily report. And they not going play games and if you not satisfied with their work our you guys aren't seeing eye-to-eye. Manager just might not charge you anything. And keep the parts on your car so you can find somewhere else to go. Sorry to who ever saw me leave a one star rating. I truly bell thought i was leaving that for Brandon Hyundai
Thanks Ian for understanding the need for repair. Service was first off to a Rocky start but Ian really did follow through on consequences to those who made it Rocky. Work was done in a timely manner. My son is happy happy to drive his car. I also took them all at the shop a pie to show appreciation.
