I took my pickup in for what I thought was the carrier bearing. Manual transmission, making ugly noises while running in gear. After discussing it with the folks at the shop, I could be looking are a very expensive differential rebuild. Heck, I was pricing new trucks by this time.
They discovered a missing mount on the transmission (from a prior fix at another shop) and a bad u-joint. Where they could have milked a lot of money out of me, they were completely honest with me and only charged me the $150 it cost to fix the problem. Will definitely recommend them and use them for any problems that arise in the future.
I had a very favorable experience at the Washington Blvd AAMCO center and would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them.

Ian and the guys at AAMCO are amazing. They are very knowledgeable and honest. I brought my car in with a horrible noise thinking transmission was messed up but they diagnosed the problem that turned out to be much cheaper/simpler fix. Will definitely be taking my cars there from now on. Thanks!

Went in with shudder between gear shifts, thinking the worst, a rebuild. Left with a smooth shifting transmission with only fluid change and filter. Ian was knowledgeable on my specific transmission and didn't upsell me on stuff I didn't need, even though I was willing to do a full flush. I trust these guys to fix it, not take a customer for a sucker.
