I took my pickup in for what I thought was the carrier bearing. Manual transmission, making ugly noises while running in gear. After discussing it with the folks at the shop, I could be looking are a very expensive differential rebuild. Heck, I was pricing new trucks by this time.
They discovered a missing mount on the transmission (from a prior fix at another shop) and a bad u-joint. Where they could have milked a lot of money out of me, they were completely honest with me and only charged me the $150 it cost to fix the problem. Will definitely recommend them and use them for any problems that arise in the future.
I had a very favorable experience at the Washington Blvd AAMCO center and would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them.

Being new to the area and not knowing where to go, I saw AAMCO daily on my way to and from work and scheduled an appointment online. The noise my car was making was worrying me…not sure what it was and being my only vehicle I wanted to get it checked out sooner rather than later. Plus my ac was acting up ever since my alternator went out in January. Ian got me in, they figured the noise out and fixed the ac! I wish I would have done this sooner. They took great care of my car and got me up and going as quick as they could! Definitely would recommend!
I had an outstanding experience with Amco (N Washington Blvd) and I couldn’t be happier with the service I received. Ian, the owner, went above and beyond by providing amazing customer service from start to finish. The shop did excellent work on my 2011 Lincoln. What really impressed me was their honesty and integrity: the job ended up taking more time than expected because Northern winters had rusted some of the front-end parts and made them much harder and time consuming to remove, but they did not charge me for the additional labor. My car was still ready when they said it would be, which is rare these days, and it’s been driving perfectly ever since. On top of that, they even followed up with a phone call a couple of days later to make sure everything was running well and that I was satisfied. It’s hard to find a shop that combines great workmanship with genuine care for their customers. I highly recommend Amco and especially Ian!
I could not be happier with my experience at Aamco In Sarasota. I came in because my transmission was acting up. I requested that the transmission be serviced. Ian quoted me a very reasonable cost for the service, and I left the truck with him. He called me back a few hours later to explain that the service was not going to be sufficient. He showed me large amounts of debris in my transmission fluid and explained that the clutch components had come apart. I did a little bit of research and found that a new transmission in my truck was going to be incredibly expensive and they are on back order. Ian was able to rebuild my existing transmission, for much less than the cost of a new one. He told me it would take a week. Six days later, the truck was finished. So in the end, he helped save me some money, and did it quickly. That was about a month ago, and my truck is running great. I would highly recommend reaching out to Ian at Amco for anything you might need. He was warm, professional, knowledgeable, and did everything he told me he would do.
